Aluminum Tire Pressure Valve Caps

by admin on July 3, 2010

When I bought my car, one of the first accessories I got was a set of aluminum tire pressure valve caps. I wanted to replace the standard black plastic caps that came with the tires just to slightly match the color f the car. So I put the new caps on and was happy with it for 7 months.

Then yesterday when I tried to get one of the caps off to check the tire pressure, I couldn’t get it off. It was stuck. And so was the other three caps! I had to resort to using pliers just to get them off.

Later as I was reading through an automobile forum, I’ve learned that aluminum or metal caps tend to get stuck. Now I’ve replaced most of the original plastic caps.

Next time I will be extra careful when replacing something that is not actually broken in the first place.

Darn Those Pot Holes!

April 13, 2010

I hit a big one yesterday and it really sent me into a barage of expletives I wouldn’t normally say. To think that those holes are big enough to be noticed (I didn’t because of the jeepney in front of me) that local government units and especially the highway department would see them and fix [...]

Meguiar’s Gold Class

April 12, 2010

There are so many car shampoos out there, and I’ve been reading a lot of car forums lately. By far, most car owners agree that when it comes to auto detailing Meguiar’s is among the best. They often recommend the Meguiar’s Gold Class. But it’s quite expensive (at least for me) that’s why I would [...]

Repairs Can Be Expensive

April 4, 2010

That’s a given, isn’t it? It’s just that it is sometimes a bit wrong timing when your funds are limited. Well, our car’s aircon broke down and we had it checked. The diagnosis? The expansion valve and the blower needs replacing. But both are not cheap. So for the meantime we had the valved replaced [...]

Getting Sentimental

January 25, 2010

I’ve always loved listening to old songs (just like that song “Old Songs” of David Pomeranz). It helps bring back old thoujghts, old feelings and whatever good and bad things that happened in the past. But often it’s the good feelings that we get to reminisce. Can we walk away from the past? I don’t [...]

I’m Now a Coffee Drinker

January 24, 2010

I wasn’t one just a month ago. But the recent flow, or should I say rush, of work required me to work for a longer hours and for that to happen, I needed a stimulant. I can’t get into drugs, that’s not a safe thing to do (of course). So I turned to the cheapest [...]

Convenience Store Sandwiches

January 23, 2010

I was hungry yesterday, maybe because I skipped lunch , but I wasn’t busy with something so I went outside the building and trooped straight to the nearest convenience store. It was a Ministop. Their small counter with the stools were all being used so I couldn’t order one of their rice meals. My next [...]

Slippery When Wet

January 23, 2010

Roads can really get very slippery after a rain. I believe that most drivers ignore that because I often meet other cars that speed up over the wet road. And that is a very dangerous thing to do… and of course reckless because you are putting your life and other people’s lives in peril. There [...]
